The Business Pathway offers interactive online instruction through our partnership with The King’s Online Academy, providing foundational knowledge in Business, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, and Marketing. Students are required to participate in Impact Leadership Training and are strongly encouraged to join Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)—the largest business career and technical student organization in the world—to apply their knowledge in a collaborative and competitive setting. Additional opportunities—such as internships, job shadowing, or completing summer enrichment programs focused on business—are highly recommended to gain further insight into the vast array of career opportunities. The Business pathway culminates in a senior capstone project, which serves as the final requirement to earn the Impact Leadership Training endorsement distinction.
Students learn the complex art of collaborative songwriting and music production. In addition to studying well-written music as examples, students will learn the fundamentals of music copyright, licensing, contracts, mixing, mastering, time feel, and music theory. Additionally, students participate in private vocal/instrumental lessons or in music production using Pro Tools, the industry standard for engineering in the music business.
Students collaboratively produce a portfolio of songs which they have either written, performed, produced, or engineered, and the portfolio is released to a number of digital streaming platforms. The final capstone will include a written paper documenting the objective and methodology of the final portfolio in order to earn the Fine Arts endorsement distinction.
The Computer Science Pathway is a structured, multi-year program designed to develop students’ foundational and advanced skills in computer science and engineering. It begins with Engineering Essentials, introducing students to engineering tools and a foundational problem solving approach common to both engineering and computer science. Students then progress to either AP Computer Science Principles or AP Computer Science A, gaining exposure to programming, data analysis, and the broader impacts of computing. Throughout the pathway, students have access to additional advanced computer science courses, allowing them to explore areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, or software development. The program culminates in a Capstone Project during senior year, where students apply their learning to design and develop a comprehensive, real-world computing solution, including a written paper documenting the objective and methodology of the final project to earn the STEM endorsement distinction.
In addition to preparation through advanced math and science courses, Engineering Pathway scholars have a suite of engineering classes from which to choose. However, what distinguishes the Landmark Scholar is the portfolio of research and design and/or prototype that validates the students’ learning in both Engineering and Computer Science.
Students earn independent study hours through extended research, lab experiences, or design time in our maker space.
