The Landmark Afterschool Care program seeks to provide Christ-like, loving care in a nurturing environment that enriches the educational, recreational, and social experience of each child and meets the afterschool needs of our students’ families.

Students are offered snacks and a drink and encouraged to socialize with their classmates during the first half-hour. We follow best practices and current school policy regarding the CDC and GaDPH COVID-19 guidelines. After snack, a daily, 30-minute, period is provided for homework assistance, study hall, or reading. Alternatively, some students choose to engage in enrichment activities such as private music lessons, group dance classes, musical theatre instruction, and Kid Chess Club. Students who are not engaged in an enrichment activity enjoy a time of indoor and/or outdoor free play which lasts until a second snack is offered sometime during the final hour before pick-up.

Afterschool Care is a paid service beyond Landmark tuition. Regular Weekly, Early Pick-up Weekly, and Hourly/As Needed rates are available. Late fees are $2/minute, so please select your rate carefully.

Please note that all Landmark students not picked up or participating in a supervised extracurricular activity within 30 minutes after dismissal will be checked in with ASC at the Hourly/As Needed Rate and billed a one-time, $50 registration fee if not registered during the FREE Early Registration period prior to the start of school.

Afterschool Enrichment

Landmark offers a range of Afterschool Activities in 2023-2024 including the following:

Athletics – We offer a large variety of elementary sports. A list, by season, can be found here. Please watch for an announcement about upcoming sports registrations via email and in the Educated Eagle newsletter. Landmark School of Dance registration is OPEN. Select this link to register your student: LANDMARK SCHOOL OF DANCE. Deadline to register is Friday, August 25th. Classes begin on Monday, August 28th. All classes are in the Dance Studio. Contact Instructor, Meredith Rogers, at [email protected] for any questions. Class schedule is as follows:

Monday
- 3:30-4:15 – Creative Movement/Tap Combo 1 (Beginner K5 and K4)
- 4:30-5:20 – Level 1-2 Technique (2nd grade and up for the advanced dancer or the dancer seeking an extra challenge. 1st graders will need to be evaluated and recommended for this class if interested.)

Tuesday
- 3:30-4:15 – Creative Movement/Tap Combo 2 (K5 with previous dance experience)
- 4:30-5:20 Level 1 Tap/Jazz Combo (1st-5th)

Wednesday
- 3:30-4:20 Level 1 (1st-2nd)
- 4:30-5:20 Level 2 (3rd-5th)

Kid Chess Club (1st-8th grade) – “Kid Chess” at Landmark registration is OPEN on the Kid Chess website at https://www.kidchess.com/register/reg-enroll-period. Club begins on September 8. Meets every Friday that school is in session through December 8 with the exception of September 29 and October 6 for Fall Semester. Winter semester begins January 26 to May 3 on Fridays when school is in session.

Legacy at Landmark Dream Musical Theater Program registration is OPEN. Register Here: LEGACY AT LANDMARK. Deadline to register is Thursday, August 31st. Classes will be in the Dance Studio from 3:30-4:30 beginning Thursday, September 8th through Thursday, May 2nd. The program is available to ALL students from 1st-5th grade. The cost is $400 per semester and includes a Legacy at Landmark t-shirt and performance costume. Contact Judi Knight at [email protected] for more information or questions.

2023-2024 Rates

Space may be limited this year. We are committed to hiring only staff that agree with Landmark’s Core Values and meet our high standards for care. For pre-registration information, please email Mrs. Lisa “LJ” Jackson at [email protected] and reserve a spot for the 2023-2024 school year.

School Policy Reminder: All students, grades PreK3-12th, who are not picked up within 30 minutes of dismissal must either check in to ASC or be under the approved supervision of a Landmark faculty or staff member or coach.

Please make a note of the following dates and registration fees:

* Registration is FREE if completed between July 17 to July 31.

* Registration is discounted 50% if completed between August 1 and August 12.

* Registrations received after August 12 are $50 per family and billed upon completing all registration forms.

The default Hourly/As Needed Rate is $15 per hour. Everyone is encouraged to register prior to August 1 at this default rate to avoid the registration fee. We also offer discounts for choosing a pre-billed weekly rate and for multi-sibling families who select a weekly rate.

After 6:00 p.m., all students on the Regular Weekly Rate and the default Hourly/As Needed Rate will be billed $2.00 per minute as a late fee to compensate staff.

After 4:30 p.m., students on the Early Pick-Up plan will be billed $2.00 per minute as a late fee. In order to avoid excessive fees, this rate should only be selected by families with a consistent daily pick-up time between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. Please note: Discounted weekly rates are billed in advance through Brightwheel and credit will not be issued if a student does not attend. Families will not be billed for weeks of Thanksgiving Break, Christmas Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break. Changes may be made month-to-month by contacting the director by email prior to the first day of the following month. Requests for rate changes will only be applied once per month.
