WHAT TO EXPECT | We are off to the races at this year’s Derby Day Soiree, our annual benefit dinner and auction! Enjoy a Mint Julep Mocktail and games on the lawn before cheering on your favorite thoroughbreds during a livecast of the 151st running of the Kentucky Derby. Enjoy entertainment from Landmark students, including our fabulous Jazz Band & Chamber Singers. After a delicious dinner, the friendly competition will increase as attendees dash for desserts. Bid paddles will fly throughout the live auction, and the event will culminate in drawing the much-anticipated raffle winners, with one year of free tuition being the grand prize! Plan to come with friends (8 seats per table).

Scott Palmer's Live Painting

Mr. Scott Palmer will create a Derby themed painting in real time during the Derby Day Soiree to be auctioned off. Historically, Mr. Palmer's paintings are our most popular auction item.

As an army brat, Scott was constantly moving with his family, and, as a result experienced art in many formats and in many places. The wonder and the intricacies of the artwork drew him in and at the age of 9 years old Scott decided he would become an artist. Scott found a world that embraced his creativity and talent, and graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with a degree in illustration.

Notably, Scott created presidential portraits of President George W. Bush & and Vice President Dick Cheney which hung in the White House for 6 years. They are now on display in the George HW Bush Library in Texas. Scott's most precious artwork is of his boys, Noah and Liam.

Landmark is honored to have numerous paintings, murals and 3D art pieces by Scott Palmer throughout our campus.
