Meet 2023's Inductees
Roby Ross
Roby Ross graduated from Landmark Christian School in 1990, as the school’s first Valedictorian. While a student at Landmark, he played football, basketball, baseball, and ran track. He attended Berry College and graduated with a BS in Health/PE in 1994 and received a Master’s in Middle Grades Education in 1996. He served Landmark for over 20 years in the classrooms and on the athletic fields. As a Coach at LCS, his teams achieved 15 State Championships in Track and Field, and 1 State Runner-Up in Football. Through his ministry as a teacher and coach, he became a mentor to countless Landmark students, and has even officiated the weddings of several alums. He is currently a teacher and coach at Trinity Christian School and he and his wife, Morgin, have 2 children, Jackson and Avery.
Andrew Cathy
Andrew Cathy graduated from Landmark Christian School in 1997. He then attended the University of Georgia, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Education. After UGA, Andrew went on to complete the Stanford University Executive Program and the Harvard Business School, Families in Business Program. He has been the Chief Executive Officer of Chick-Fil-A, Inc, since 2021, and is the third Cathy family member to hold that title. Chick-Fil-A is one of the nation’s largest family-owned businesses, and the franchise employs many of our high school students and provides opportunities for college scholarships. Andrew and his wife, Mandy, have four children.
Durand Rice
Durand Rice graduated from Landmark Christian School in 2000. He attended Georgia Southern University, where he received his BS in Sports Management in 2004. Durand has been serving, teaching, and coaching at Landmark for 19 years, and is the current Middle School Vice-Principal and Dean of Middle School. He mentors and coaches hundreds of students each year and has been referred to as “Mr. Landmark”. Durand and his wife, Stefanie, have two daughters.
Sierra (Hill) Dukes
Sierra (Hill) Dukes graduated from Landmark Christian School in 2004. She attended Clemson University, where she earned her BA, and went on to Life University to study Exercise Sport Science. During her time at LCS, she was a Varsity Cheerleader and lettered in Track and Field all four years of high school. She was a Region and State Champion in multiple events and was named ATL Track Club Female Athlete of the Year and AJC Female Athlete of the Year in 2004. At Clemson, she was ACC Champion (indoor and outdoor) as well as a Regional and National Qualifier. Sierra returned to Landmark as a Track and Field Coach and has led our teams to achieve multiple Region and State Qualifiers, 7 Region Champions, and 5 State Champions. She was named Co-Coach of the Year in 2022 and was inducted to GHSA Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2023. Aside from being highly decorated in Track and Field, Sierra is a godly mentor and coach to countless Landmark students. Sierra and her husband, Marion, have two sons.
Kelsi (Deel) Franco
Kelsi (Deel) Franco graduated from Landmark Christian School in 2009. She attended Lee University and graduated with a BA in Spanish and minor in Religion in 2013. She went on to North Central University, where she earned her Master of Science in Organizational Leadership with a Nonprofit Management Specialization. Kelsi is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of House of Cherith, a residential recovery program for survivors of sex trafficking, exploitation, trauma, the sexual entertainment industry, and domestic violence. She serves on the Board of Directors for City of Refuge Atlanta, a non-profit that helps individuals and families transition out of crisis. She is certified in Suicide Intervention, Mental Health First Aid, Trauma Informed Care, and is a certified Mandated Reporter. These important organizations are able to partner with Landmark to provide service opportunities for our students and help get them involved in our Atlanta communities. Kelsi and her husband Gabriel welcomed their first daughter, Kierra, in July 2023.
Donald Payne, Jr
Donald Payne, Jr, graduated from Landmark Christian School in 2012. He was a linebacker at LCS, and went on to play football at Stetson University. He earned his BS in Finance and is currently pursuing his MBA at Stetson. He is a 3-time FCS All-American, and 3-time Pioneer Football League Defensive Player of the Year. He led NCAA tackles with 185, in 2014. He recorded 538 career tackles, the 3rd most in Division I history, between 2013 and 2016. Donald was named Stetson University Male Athlete of the Year 2013-2016 and was inducted into the Stetson University Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022. He signed with the NFL Baltimore Ravens in 2017, and went on to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington Football Team, and Miami Dolphins. He is the first athlete from Landmark Christian School and Stetson University, to play in the NFL. He serves as a Champions Board Member for the Hatters Collective, which is an NIL program for student athletes at Stetson University. Donald maintains a relationship with Landmark Christian School and serves as a role model for many of our student athletes. Donald says, “I've been a War Eagle from the beginning and without the foundation and the backbone Landmark instilled in me, I would not be where I am today.”
